Forum rules

Welcome to Tosogu.com. This forum is dedicated to the sharing of knowledge and the preservation of Japanese sword fittings.

We are a small band of enthusiastic collectors who are serious about Tosogu. We discuss all forms of tosogu and openly welcome thoughtful and insightful conversation. Related discussion can include tsuba and all other forms of kodogu, books, koshirae and all tosogu related items. We also have a section for Katchu and have 2 people who study this subject and are happy to discuss armour with one and all. This forum is password protected so you will need a Username and Password to post messages (not required to read messages).

Membership

Membership is open to all, but you must email me and I will create a membership for you. You are required to use a real name when creating your membership so please provide that in your email. We will not accept an alias as a user name. Also, a small bio on yourself and what you like to study and or collect would be appreciated.

There are a few rules here and they are very simple, No flaming, abuse or general bad behavior. No discussion regarding Ebay auctions unless they have an educational basis. Ebay auctions of members may be shared in the "Commercial offerings" section. Discussion of modern items that are not true tosogu should be direct to another forum. If you are happy with all that, then just click on the following link: Tosogu.com Forum Membership and we will sign you up.

Once joined, you will be emailed confirming your account and requesting you to enter your password. Go to the main page and log in with your user name and password and your ready to fly.

You will notice a Forum titled Introductions. Please drop in first and tell us a little about your self.

If you want to change your password to something easier to remember, go to the Profile" link just under the banner. You can also add any information that you want other members others will see about you.

Posting

Just go to the Forum you wish to post in, and select "Post New Topic" under the banner. Instructions on adding images and links are available at the link "Image Upload" under the banner. Images must be hosted somewhere online (Tosogu.com offers this service for members only) and cannot be just added from your computer. Providing you are logged in, the "reply to" posting area is always at the bottom of the thread you are reading. If you get stuck, ask and I will help, it is pretty easy though.
